Title: Ariana Grande
In this piece some elements and principles that I'm using that are obvious is space mostly in between the eyes, lines with the eyes, hair, lips and value how dark I colored some parts of the hair. Principles that I use are contrast with the shading in some places, and light and dark in places, emphasis by focusing on the eyes to bright it up more.
With the shading and lines that I did I used a pencil but also when I first started I use a grid and with that I had to use a ruler so then it can look good and not crooked and weird, I had to use my eraser too so then if I made any mistakes I can just erase them but also fix anything, to shade I use a shade thing that we did together during a zoom class, I also use the advice that we talked about during class so I can improve.
I can say myself that I'm kind of a Ariana Grande fan I don't know that much about her expect that she played "Cat" in "Sam & Cat" so yeah, but her music is good, I love her voice it's beautiful!!!!.But also when I was looking for picture I didn't really know who to draw but then Ariana came up and I decide to do her and I was looking for picture and it didn't seem that hard so I did her, but I also think that she's a really good person with how she handle with the bombing of Manchester.
My goals for this artwork is too see a little improvement because I remember back in middle school I had to do a portrait of me but with water color but also we would do other artwork that involve with value and contrast and I can definitely see a improvement from that time so I'm glad that I see that, and I feel like with the advice, videos and more that it helped me a lot.
My overall thoughts of this artwork is that I thought it would turn out kind of bad but now that I see it, it looks better than I expected and with that I'm glad with the work and progress that I saw from this time being, but now I know what to do and what not to do like in the beginning I did the grid maybe too darker and also I would draw kind of on some spots which made marks but also the shading, and to do practice sheets first then do it on the paper but now I know what to do for next time, but thanks for the advice, and I know this my first artwork but hopefully I get better and thanks for the advice.
Title: Extra Lines
I called this piece "Extra Lines'' cause the gum is called Extra and we're using lines, get it? kind of funny to me even made me laugh a little. Some elements and principles in my artwork that you can tell I'm using is Line for element because this week we're using lines to help us with our work, a principle that I'm using is pattern like in a certain place I just use more lines to help it define more.
In order to make this artwork I use a ruler, pencil, and pen first I said to see where I wanted my piece to be at, and so I use the pencil and ruler in order to make use I knew where to put it at and if I didn't wanted my piece to be somewhere then I could erased and if I used a pen it would be hard to erased and make use where I wanted it to be at.
Well I love gum, like when I say that I mean it like for Christmas I asked for gum and my mama gave me a whole 35 pack and I was happy, that's how much I love Extra gum but also others like 5 gum. This piece express how much I like gum well kind of because I didn't do like many other gums another just one but ehh kind of there.
My goal was to make it at least better than what I image in my mindset but it was sorta there, I did like 2 finish line contour piece but I notice I could change some things so I did and I did it better now then before, my piece somewhat got to my goal it help me with different lines I could use to make it better in order to make it look good.
I learned that with tiny words it's kind of hard to do it cause it can look messy unless you're making a big piece but I didn't but, with the 1st finish piece I did, I use tiny words and it just didn't make it look good so on the other one I didn't use tiny words which helped a lot and made it look better, my artwork sorta look how I image not exact but somewhere there and with that I had to see what different lines I could use to make it look good but also combine them together and make it all unity together, this piece definitely helped me, by knowing what I can do for another art piece that I want to do in the future.
Title: Aal muhnd
This piece is called Aal muhnd because that's how you pronounce it actually, not like how you spell it but pronounce it. My artwork looks somewhat like an Almond, in order to make it look like an almond I had to use value & contrast so then it can look like it had texture to make it look somewhat realistic. Some elements & principles you can see is lines to make it look like a real almond, but also you can see the form & shape of the almond and the shadows to make it look like theirs light source.
For me to be able to get the shape & form of an almond I had to use my basic which is pencil and eraser but also to shade in some spots I use the tool that we did in class before which was to make the shade good. At first I was thinking of doing some chairs but then I change my mind into almonds which I think was a good decision in my opinion.
Well I love almonds they're good, at this moment I don't have almond but trust me if I did I would be eating some right now. I don't think I express or showed any feeling or emotion in my artwork but I know that with foods you can express like a feeling or emotion like have something come out of the almond, or basically make a statement with it but with this artwork I didn't really use an emotion or feeling towards this artwork.
I feel like this piece actually in some way help me teach my goal by helping me with contract but also value and at the end it going to look all unity, and in my opinion I feel like this the best I did with the lines and shading and I would call this the top 1 at this moment for me, and that I'm proud about how this has turn out so far.
I feel like this taught me that instead for looking around and finding large object maybe I should look for small objects so then I won't go hard on myself but also have to change up so many times, and having to focus on something that is probably hard for me even though it doesn't seem hard I make it hard, so I feel like small objects are good for me and then later on I can move up and do large objects, and also I feel like sometimes I focus too much on looking hard even that I chose objects that I probably can't do it but maybe soon and I focus on that one thing and there's many object around that are for my level that I can do and I don't focus on those but now I feel like I did and I'm really happy about my choice.
Title: Little Things
My work piece is supposed to look something like a landscape that includes a foreground, mid-ground, and background. The reason why I call this "Little Things" because well its a little piece of a picture I just zoom a little to get the "STOP sign" and the bush and stuff like that in the picture. A Element that you can notice in my artwork is value and I use value to create contrast on some places that I needed like shadows and darker leaf's and where the sun is not showing the most.
My media for this project is watercolor to make a landscape. I use watercolors and brushed and most important water to bring the watercolors all together, and let me just say it was somewhat a challenge because I don't really use watercolors, I mostly just use like color pencils or my pencil, so I had to see how I would control my watercolors together and wait for sometime to see how I would work with them.
Well I didn't really get inspired I just went on my phone and on camera roll and look up "landscape" and I didn't get a lot of pictures showing up just like 3-4 but they barely had a background or mid-ground just foreground and so I saw this picture and I zoomed in a little and I thought it would be good for be to make it my work piece. In this piece I don't think I express anything, and I know you can by making it a different color or darker or anything like that but again I don't believe so.
My goals as an artist for this project was to try to get use to watercolors and work with them and I'm getting there step by step but since I'm not use to it, it can be hard to deal with since you need to know what colors are good to use for light or darker or make use its not too much water and just make it balance. In this art piece I like to say it did help me just I need to try to work with watercolor more and get use to it and know by basis.
In my head I thought it was going to look probably more realist but since I'm not that good its somewhat realist and I'll work on it by practicing with watercolors, but in my head I thought it was going to look way different but at least I did practices on different pages to see what I can use and what would help me. I know for a fact this piece help me with how I can do in the future and what I know what to do next time and with that I'm glad we had to work on watercolors to test out a different media and to see where we're at at this moment with the watercolors and how we can use function with them.
Title: Cherry
The title of my artwork is called "Cherry" and that's because wells they're cherries which I decide to do for my work piece. Some elements that are obvious in my artwork is value, color, shape, form and texture because for this artwork we're trying to focus on the textures that we can see in our art piece like for mine is the stem, cherry, and leaf and for the principles are contracts, emphasis, and balances because I was trying to focus on the cherries to bring the textures more forward.
The media of my artwork is oil pastels which I can say it was kind of hard to work with mostly on small spaces but with that I used the shade thing to shade in the smaller spaces that I couldn't get to which helped a lot. A techniques that I used was to put the white pastel first so then it can blend easier and it won't be as hard.
Nothing really inspiration came in mind when I was doing my artwork I just thought of cherries but also an apple to do and well it was hard for me to choose which one because at first I chose the cherries then apple then cherries again because with the apple I sort knew someone was going to do it as well but then I just made my decision on doing cherries but not with water droplets because at first I thought it wasn't going to be hard for me but then I feel like I just tried to put that it wasn't coming out as I wanted it to so I just went without water droplets.
I feel like with this piece it definitely helped me out with oil pastels more than before and with the Impressionism artwork I did before because before I was alright I didn't really know how to deal with oil pastels as much as now and that definitely helped my goal with becoming more better with oil pastels.
During my artwork I learned that to blend it better its good to put white first then the color and if you want like a dark add black or dark color last, I also learned that to make something seem like it has texture like a leaf you can use Sgraffito with makes it look better and seem like it has veins. I didn't really think I would use the colors I have like for instants the background I thought I would've used two different colors like a blue and brown but this I was thinking and felt that it wouldn't really work and so I feel like with how it came out now its definitely better than what I imagine. I know with more practice with oil pastels I can become more better with it them, I just need practice and time, but this definitely influence me with what I can do better with other art pieces that includes oil pastels because now I know more about oil pastels then I did before.
Title: Yellow Raft On The Cool Blues
The title of my artwork is called "Yellow Raft On The Cool Blues" because it's base on a raft on the ocean. An element you can see in my artwork is lines and a principle is movement like in my picture you can see movement in the ocean and the sky and where its going. My subject matter is art base on Impressionism.
The media that my artwork is made of is oil pastels cause I thought it would look good in layers in doing the process of my work. I use oil pastels to create my piece and I went in movement direction to make it seem like if the ocean and or sky was moving in a direction to show movement but also I did short strokes to to show different layers in the colors.
Jean Francois Millet inspired my work with how he does his oil pastels but also I love the paining L'Horizon (La plaine), I love how the sun rays goes thru the clouds like I probably couldn't do that but its beautiful and I love the detail on the grass and the person in the back too probably one of my favorite piece from him.
At first I tried doing some practice pieces on different pages and see which one would look good but also what I thought would express something in some way, and I choose the piece I finish now, and I feel like I kind of teach my goal not much I can definitely improve in my work, I feel like the ocean and raft boat and sun was something that I really like and I just had trouble with the sky but then kind of mess-up with a color and I tried to fixed it with a dark color and it sort of worked but now I know what I need more practice in.
I learned that with oil pastels it can be kind of hard to bend with other colors mostly if its a different shade of color but you just have to have I time and practice in different sheet to see which would work out best. I think I imagined my ocean, sun, and raft boat how I wanted it, just the sky, somewhat there? but know I know what I need help with in the future.
Title: Peanut Matthew
The title of my artwork is called "Peanut Matthew" because that's the person I decide to do for this artwork because I thought he would be fun to draw and since he's a good actor too I thought he would be great. Elements and Principles that are obvious in my work is the value of the color and contrast in spot that is supposed to show light.
For my media I decide to use color pencils and crayons. To create this artwork I had to use different various of colors of green, blacks like gray, and purple and even though I'm not finish yet I can tell I will have to use different colors to create contrast. To create the different value in some spots I use different colors like light and dark at the same time and then use a white to blead it.
The inspiration of my artwork is the actor Matthew Gray Gubler, he's funny, a good actor, and also cute too but I was thinking about doing Tom Holland at first and now I feel satisfy with what I chose because of the picture that I picked for Matthew it looks like what type of person he is.
My goals as an artist was to make it seems like it looked like him just as a Peanut Movie character and I feel like right now it does like with the clothing it does, I just have to finish on the rest for now but I think at the end I will like how it will turn out.
What I learned in this artwork is that for the facial features it kind of hard to have it in a place that you would like for example for me I had to use a ruler to make sure the eyes were like in the same placement and even thought it's not a lot of facial features that I had to create it was sort of hard and mostly on the hand probably because everything on the peanut looks simple and fast but sometimes when you think on something for a long time or too hard it starts becoming hard well for me it does, that's why I try not to overthink in simple drawings but then I do. This definitely helped me in many ways, and mostly if I decide to do another drawing like this in the future.
Title: Flower & BiC Ads
The first ad that I did is called "Bic" because that's what I did it about, the second one is called "Citali Temple" The business card is just my name. Some elements and principles I used in this project are space how I used that to create proportion and to make it all balance together and look unity.
I created my ads and business card by using the app Canva which helped a lot to make it look creative, I did have to use different apps to take things out or to change some like a picture I wanted to use wasn't transparent then I would use an app to make it transparent and also how I added the pencil in the first ad because I wanted it to match the description.
I did have to use different inspiration to create each ad and business card but just wanted it to look like it was from me and not from another person. But most importantly I had to balance each color out to make it look good. Both of my ads are reaching to catch the audience by using the product that is on it like by doing an action or doing percent off.
This project made it to where you can make an ad in many different ways with different sources like it can be about the same thing but in different color or font and even the pictures can look different. So this made my experience with different sources different and made me think about how to make it the way I wanted it.
When creating this project different things made me think in different ways to make it better or how the audience would react to it like for the last ad maybe the audience would use it to buy flowers for their parent, but overall my thoughts in this are how doing it a different way can still give the same concept.
